Dead Hearts
Leo padded up to his mate that was shunning away from the pack, seemingly distant. He sat next to her and wrapped his body around the female, warming her with his warmth. Charm was shaking violently against the larger wolf, she was clearly terrified. She spoke vididly of horrible visions.
"Tell me everything that happened. Tell me everything you saw." Leo spoke softly in a attempt of soothing his mate.
"They had lights inside their eyes..They were always so full of life." Words escaped her shaking lips as she hung her head low.
Charm shook more and cried out painfully.
She watched the gunmen move toward her friends from afar, she was frozen. Her heart was dying.
"Please tell me what they looked like, Did they seem afraid of you?" Leo asked, nuzzling into her.
"They were pups that I once knew..." Charm sniffled.
Leo held Charm close to his chest, whispering soothingly toward her. He didn't dare to say anything to his mate about love because she wouldn't bother to believe him.
Charm hid her face within the silver fur of her lovers chest, she knew her friends were no where. She couldn't even feel her lover there.
"Did you touch them, Did you hold them? Were you following them to town?" Leo whispered, questioningly.
Charm watched her closed eyelids play the scene. The gunmen apporaching her two friends, whisper..Howler..Two gun shots made the wolf freeze and cry out for her friends. She lunged forward toward the gunmen growling and snapping her snarling jaw. They had begun to retreat, Charm had chased them away from her friends corpses. She then returned. She stood over the two, trying to wake them up. Drops of sorrowful liquid poured out of her eyes as she began to drag them away from the open and hide their bodies away. She made sure to bury them well so no other creatures would feed on their bodies without permission. She lifted her head high and begun to sing a deathly song of sorrow and pain. She remembered the looks of their faces, the pain shooting through their once bright eyes.
She murmed into Leo's fur, "They were pups that I once knew..Now they're all dead hearts to you.."
